Washing the Vette
I would like to talk about cleaning the car, this is a bout a 3 hour deal. First I start inside. I vacuum the carpet then wipe down the dash and door panels. Wipe out the seats and then clean the windshield about once a month. I silicone the weatherstrip with armorall or some product that is similar. This is to lube the weather strip more than any thing else. I also apply leather treatment about once a month to the seats. This does not take long and it keeps the leather looking good. Then I open the hood and clean the parts of the clam shell that the soap brush will not reach. I use a clean damp rag, and then I close the hood. I use car wash soap and a very soft brush. I open the hood again and raise the head lights if I have used them in the last week. I close the hood again and make sure every thing is rinsed real well. I dry the car with a micro fiber towel. I get out the window cleaner and clean and polish the outside of the cars glass for a very clean and shiny look. I clean the wheels with wheel cleaner first then I go back over them with window cleaner since they are chrome.Cleaning them again makes for a very nice mirror reflextion.I apply tire shine. Once a month I wax the wheels and the car. Now without waxing this is about a 2 to 3 hour job depending on how hard I am working at it.When waxing I apply two thin coats, this is about a 6 hour job. Here's the great news, I do not think about work, bills or any thing else but what I am doing. It is a nice way to relax and chill out.if you think that spending this much time on a car is crazy, then you just don't get it. But think of all the time you spend a week watching crapovison or reading magazines or working for someone else to get them rich. When it comes time to clean the car, none of this crap matters. So, to me this is almost just as good as driving the car. The vette has helped me more than a shrink could have and will probably cost me less over time.

brakes

well i believe it is time to put some brakes on the vette i think i am going to replace the brakes with some better perfomance brakes from summit racing i will use cross drilled and slotted rotors as well as a better than oe pad some thing along a hawk pad i think will be good, i will aslo drain all of the old brake fluid and replace it with d.o.t 4 fluid it has a higher boiling point wich is always a plus and will cost about 3 more dollars to replace than d.o.t 3, today i noticed that the oil pressure dropped to about 60 psi at idle when the engine is warm i am not realy worried about this seeing that it was sitting above 80 psi when i bought the car so i changed the oil and it looked ok, and the new oil looks ok so i am guessing that i have a bad oil pressure sensor on this car this is not uncommon on these engines and they are cheap to replace so i will be buying a oil pressure sensor also and i will replace it when i get my next oil change done in about 2000 miles

top off

this is not going to be a big post, tonight i am going to talk about driving the car with the top off yep that's right with the brains blown out. this is one of the best features of these cars the targa roof i can only think of a couple of cars right now that have targa roofs and none of them except the vette is made here in the state's and none of them have v8 power, what can you say? Ttops suck they always leak drop tops are noisy and may leak and the tops cost a ton of money to fix, targa roof is like a ttop car with out the leaks and with out the crappy bar in the middle of the roof, i have both roofs for my car the clear one and the body colored roof the clear one lets to much light in something like a green house, but the body color is perfect. i can pop the top when i want and i can have the comfort of a hard top all other times and if i feel like it i could have a moon roof also. all c4 vettes are targa roof, and most of the newer vettes are targa roof, if you can not picture a targa roof i will put some pictures up this week end with brains blown out for you

This page
This Blog is dedicated to one of the best sports cars ever built the C4 corvette, At the time that these cars starting showing up in show rooms they where the fastest Americana made sports cars and the best looking Americana made sports cars. To this day there are very few cars built that can match these cars in the performing area, yes there are a lot of new cars that can do some things as well and even better then the C4 corvette but very few cars that can do what these cars can do all of the away around, The C4 can handle very well, stop well, and go like all hell, and best of all they look good doing it. Also i would like to add that this is my first corvette but i have wanted one for many years, As time goes by i will let you in on upgrades and repairs as they are needed
